Hi there! I didn’t plan on dedicating an entire post to my new lantern, but I was drafting up another post on some of the final touches I’ve put in the laundry room and decided it was worthy of one 🙂
Here is the awesome, builder-grade light that came installed in my laundry room.
I like to call these “boob lights”. Sorry if that’s inappropriate, but I despise them, and that’s what they look like. I think there were about 12 in my house before I started replacing them.
I’m sure you remember my design board, and in it I included this lantern from Ballard Designs.
I absolutely love this pendant and couldn’t wait to order it. Except when it arrived, it was way too big for the space. Talk about super bummed.
So I exchanged it for this one in the small antique bronze, which also happens to be from Ballard. It’s smaller and cheaper. Win win!
I started by taking down the “boob light”. I turned off the power, unscrewed the bowl, and untwisted the 3 wires. That’s all and it was free to be tossed in the garbage.
I attached the new fixture with the same 3 wires and capped them with the same 3 wire caps. [I apologize for the quality of these photos. They are screen shots of a video so that’s why they’re poor.]
Screwed in the top plate, and crossed my fingers while I went to turn the power back on.
And we had light!
This is the final product.
What do you think about my light choice for the Laundry Room? Comment and let me know if you have any questions, I love hearing from you guys!
