I’m back again this week with another nursery update! This time – the nursery furniture! I’ll be sharing all the sources and pictures of the funiture!
I have 3 main pieces – the dresser/changer, the rocking chair, and of course the crib! Here it all together in my nursery design board.
Last week I shared the transformation of the beautiful dresser that was passed on to us from Ryan’s grandmother. You can view that here.
And here it is all moved into the nursery, thanks to my husband and father in law hauling it up the stairs!
I put a changing pad on top of the dresser and added a cute pop of mint with the cover (found here).
As for the rocking chair, I was completely in love with this modern wingback tufted rocking chair from Pottery Barn. I saw it on Pinterest a long time ago and it was love at first sight. I was already convinced I was going to buy it before I ever saw it in person or even sat in it. So I finally got around to visiting Pottery Barn and planned on trying it out at the store…AKA ordering it. But I was completely heartbroken when I sat in the chair and it was ridiculously uncomfortable. But NO! This was THE CHAIR! What in the world was I going to do now? I walked away from the chair, cleared my mind, and came back and sat in it again a few minutes later. Hoping maybe I was wrong. Maybe it was going to be comfortable this time. YES I’m that crazy. But obviously nothing changed and it was NOT a comfortable rocker. My husband would kill me if I paid this much for a rocking chair that wasn’t comfortable. Sadly, I walked around the store looking for Plan B.
And I found this one in the store. The wingback convertible rocker. And I sat it in. And it was heavenly.
How in the world can a store have 2 chairs so similar, yet so different in comfort levels, I thought to myself. As far as looks, this one is very close, just more rounded, and not tufted. The tufted part was definitely my favorite aspect of the other one, but IT DIDN’T MATTER. This one was the winner since it was still extremely beautiful AND comfortable.
So I ordered it and here it is! 🙂
The most beautiful rocker I’ve ever laid my eyes on! And my son better agree, haha!
It sits in the corner to the right of the changing table.
I put a small side table next to the rocker to hold bottles, books, or whatever else. I got everything from Target. The side table, the gold giraffe, the lamp base, and lamp shade. The table is super heavy & sturdy and I just love how everything matches the room.
And last but not least – the CRIB! I knew I wanted a gray crib, and I found the most perfect crib online made by Delta and sold here. It’s the Delta Fancy 4 in 1 crib that converts and grows with the baby! It becomes a toddler bed, and then eventually a big boy bed with headboard and footboard. What I love most? Is that the back is solid and not slatted all the way around. Just a personal design preference, but I LOVE the look of this one!
It’s so sleek, simple, and classy to me! And the color is just perfect. Although it comes in white and espresso also. Here it is setup in the nursery!
I think it contrasts so nicely on the shiplap wall.
That’s all for now! More updates to come in the following weeks!
