Now that the Holidays are over and I’ve got everything cleaned up and packed away, I was able to take some updated pictures of my dining/poker room. [With my new camera!] I’ve made a couple changes in the room recently and the old pictures just wouldn’t do! So without further ado, here’s the post where I reveal the entire makeover and link where I bought everything.
Days after moving in and breathing a sigh of relief that there was no damage done to our beloved table.
Using some of the old tables, chairs, and stools to figure out how I wanted the furniture placement. Also, that rug was stolen from the family room to use as a prop as well. In the beginning I wasn’t sure if I was going to put the rug under the bar area, or the table. Oh, and the bar. The whole focal point of that side of the room. I actually found this bar online from overstock It came in a box, and I put it together myself. The back side has shelving and a cut out for a mini fridge. I absolutely love it. The color, the size, and especially the mini fridge part.
I’m sure you know by now I’m a huge fan of Joss and Main. I have the app on my phone and it’s very addicting. Every day at 11am they come out with new “events” with new products and they only last about 5 days until they’re gone. Here’s the pair of chairs I found on Joss that I bought for in front of the bar.
And here they are after they were delivered.
Below is the rug which I found at Home Goods. Another one of those love at first sight items. It’s kind of a taupe and cream, which matches the wallpaper in my family room perfectly to tie the two rooms together.
Speaking of Joss and Main, here are the dining room chairs I found and bought 8 of. Exactly the design and color I wanted and at a decent price on top of it. I kept the brown leather chairs we used to have for overflow. Sometimes when we have poker games, we can have up to 18 or 20 people so it works out perfectly to have the extra chairs.
The rug, and new chairs in the room. This side table I put in-between the two bar chairs is from Target. It’s a rubbed bronze color, and not too bulky. It was $59.99 and can be found here.
One would think that you would paint the room BEFORE you purchase all the furniture. But I’m way too antsy for that. So I taped it off, moved the furniture to the middle of the room, and prayed I didn’t get paint on any of my new stuff.
I painted the bottom half of the walls pure white, and the top half the same thing in the rest of my downstairs, Pavilion Beige by Sherwin Williams.
Added chair rail, followed by the boxes. You can read my full tutorial on faux wainscoting.
Found these two blue pillows at Garden Ridge for $5! Another one of my ways to tie in the same color theme and look as the family room.
This sideboard/hutch is from Home Decorators. Another one of my favorite online stores. This guy was on clearance at the time I bought it for only $399. It’s actually 3 separate pieces, but pushed together looks like 1. It provides so much storage for poker chips, board games, dishes, etc. They don’t sell the exact same one anymore, but they have it with a slightly different mirror design on the front here. The lamps are from Target as well as the canvas art. The bowl was a housewarming gift from my best friend!
The curtain panels are the same ones I used in my family room. These pinch pleat panels are from Bed Bath as well as the mercury hardware. [Don’t forget your 20% off coupon y’all.]
Mirror is from Home Goods for only $59. Side note – do you hate when someone says they bought something at Home Goods as much as I do? I mean, I feel bad that I’m saying that because I’ve personally found or seen countless items that I fall in love with only to find out they “bought it at Home Goods”. And as much as I love that place, it’s probably more likely that I’ll find a pot of gold before I find the same thing as someone else. So please accept this as my formal apology.
And here’s the final reveal. I couldn’t decide on just a couple pictures so I’ve decided to share them all! A list of the rest of the decor is at the end of the post.
