Over the last couple of weeks since I finished my laundry room reno, I’ve been working on a built in mudroom for my friend Jessica. She actually lives in my neighborhood which is super convenient and I was so excited to help her bring her Pinterest mudroom dreams to life! The entrance between her garage door and back hallway has this perfect cut out niche for something like this. She wanted a more functional place to store her family’s shoes, hats, bags, etc. but also looked cute!

Here is the space BEFORE:
Basically just a spot where shoes ended up all over the floor. Here is the drawing I came up with based on her inspiration.
And here are my actual plans. Super technical, right? People ask me often if I use any programs for plans and my program has always been pen and paper and probably always will be! This is actually a super easy build with a simple box frame using 3/4″ plywood from Home Depot.
