Living in Florida, it’s hard to get into the Fall spirit around this time of year since it’s still a scorching 90 degrees outside. But with pumpkin flavored everything on the market, and Christmas decorations already hitting shelves, I figured I’d jump into the spirit and add a little Fall to our home this year.
I visited Michael’s a few days ago and found their Fall decorations already 60% off. That’s crazy to me, considering it’s only mid September, but I’ll take it! I didn’t have a specific plan in mind when I went in, I just knew I wanted something neutral, and not the typical Fall colors. I’m not a fan of those “rusty” colors, and don’t think they go well with my home’s style. Here’s the stuff I brought home with me.
3 Neutral Pumpkins: small, medium, and large
1 small gold pumpkin
1 foam “D”
1 acrylic gold paint
2 flower stems
1 package of diamonds and pearls
(Because it wouldn’t work in my house if it didn’t have some type of bling 🙂
I started by painting the D in the gold paint. My plan was to attach this to the front of the large pumpkin. I gave it 2 coats and let it dry.
While it was drying, I cut off all the flower stems from the main stem. Notice my flowers are blue, green, purple and neutral. I found these in the Fall seasonal section and immediately fell in love. They match my house perfectly, but still have that Fall vibe without all the rusty orange and red colors.
Once the D was dry, I attached the diamonds and pearls to it. They came in strands that already had adhesive on them. This was super easy and took just a few seconds to do.
I peeled back some of the diamonds, and used my nail gun to shoot a nail through the D into the large pumpkin. You could probably attach it with a strong glue, but I love any reason to use my nail gun 🙂
I covered the nail back up with the diamonds & ta-da!
I carved the top out of the medium pumpkin and filled it with sand. Then I started sticking my flower stems in. No particular order, just spreading them out evenly, trying to create some symmetry.
This is my usual year round table decor in my kitchen, and I used these blue hydrangea stems to add to my new fall arrangement.
Here’s how my arrangement turned out!
I didn’t do anything to the small neutral or gold pumpkins and think they look awesome as they are!
What do you guys think of my Fall kitchen table decor? What are some ways you are bringing Fall into your home?
Comment and let me know, I love hearing from you guys!
