If you’re curious to know what I’ve been up to lately, you’ve come to the right place! I’ve been working day and night on the hubs office makeover, because well, I just can’t stop myself when it comes to this stuff!
And, if you haven’t already, check out the Office Design Board where I laid out all my plans for the room, and even exposed the dreaded BEFORE photo! I also shared my tutorial for the DIY Panel Wall I built on the focal wall for the office.
So here’s some progress. I spray painted these orbs I picked up at Marshall’s to hang above our degrees on the panel wall.
Speaking of the panel wall. I wasn’t 100% happy with the color I originally painted it. It was a custom color I saw online and loved the photo so much that I just went to the store and bought 2 gallons of it without testing it in the office. Huge mistake. I’ll write a post on that in the near future so that you don’t have to make that mistake. So after buying and testing 6 samples, here’s the new color:
And here it is with the new curtain panels, orbs, and our degrees. Much happier now.
Here’s the closet I built and posted about the other day.
I also gave new life to the bookshelves he’s had all along. They were pretty beat up, warped, and just an overall mess. I adjusted some screws, did some wood touch up, and used an espresso furniture marker to completely revive them. It’s amazing what a little TLC can do to some older furniture. I used some decor from around the house, plus a few new items from Home Goods to style them. I really wish I would have taken “before” pics of these to show how much better they look, but that’s just another example of how I work way too fast for my own good most of the time.
I’m also in the middle of upgrading his existing desk. I’ll have an entire post dedicated to that in a couple days. Let’s just say that his desk is meant to face the wall, and with the new layout, that wasn’t very pleasing to the eye.
I just got the cork board wall installed, too. I absolutely love the way this turned out, and it’s practical and useful for the hubs to boot!
And last but not least, the fan (a few pictures up) was removed and upgraded to this awesome new pendant.
So that’s what I’ve been busy doing lately. Getting closer and closer to the reveal and I couldn’t be more excited!
