I’m about a month late, but I couldn’t go without sharing these adorable photos from Aiden’s 1st Birthday Party. Just looking at these pictures while putting together this post has me all emotional. I mean, he’s just the sweetest thing I’ve ever laid my eyes on! That’s what all moms say, right??
And yes, for my blog readers that haven’t heard the news yet, you read the blog title correctly; we’re having another baby! We will be joining the crazy 2under2 club and are terrified, but excited!! This is one crazy, busy year for us with building a house, selling a house, and moving, but I am SO, SO thankful for every bit of it!

Here’s a couple of Aiden’s 12 month pics the day before his birthday! Of course we had to celebrate the last monthly photo with a balloon and he had a blast!
And then came the party, and all the fun decorations – my favorite part!
The “smash cake gender reveal” was actually totally my husband, Ryan’s, idea. I rarely ever say this, but I have to give him all the credit for this one. I was telling him that I didn’t necessarily want to have another gender reveal party (since it feels like we just had one) especially so close to Aiden’s birthday, and he suggested we combine them and just have Aiden’s smash cake reveal the gender of our new baby. Absolutely genius!!
So I had this cute little cake whipped up by our grocery store. I handed them the envelope given to me at my gender sonogram that I never opened, and the bakery girls were so giddy that they got to be a part of such a big secret.
We had yummy food, adorable custom cookies, and so many friends and family to celebrate.
I printed all his monthly photos from the year and hung them around the kitchen for the party. It was SO fun looking at how much he’s changed over the year! I made all of the paper decorations you see with my cricut machine. I absolutely love it for parties and projects! Like my DIY Canvas Sign I made for Aiden’s nursery.
Getting ready to dig into his smash cake…well, kind of.

Way too many gifts! Such a spoiled little man!
Daddy was poking at the cake trying to get him to dig in! Everyone was SOO anxious and he was taking his sweet time!
He didn’t quite dig in with his hands like we thought, but he pulled out the stick, which had all the colored icing stuck to it!
And everyone started cheering, which scared Aiden so bad he started crying!
IT’S A BOY!!!
I am honestly so shocked; I was convinced it was a girl! Not because I wanted a girl, but because something inside my mama brain just said it was. I actually wanted another boy because I think it’ll be much easier and hopefully they will be best friends!
Aiden had a blast opening his many presents!
One of his favorite presents though, his new Mercedes GLA Class! What a stud!!
I mean, just look at that face!!
All in all, we had a wonderful day celebrating not one, but TWO sweet boys! My heart is so full and I can’t wait to watch this little love of mine become a BIG brother!
