Last week I told you all about the plans for my Master Bedroom Refresh, and today I’m sharing some progress. The first thing I wanted to tackle were the walls. Painting a space makes a huge impact for a small price tag and I couldn’t wait to brighten up my room with a lighter color paint. I chose Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore, after falling in love with it during my Laundry Room Makeover.
As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve really been loving monochromatic molded walls lately. Here’s a picture of my master bedroom walls before, where the molding is white and the walls are a darker color inside the boxes and a lighter shade outside.
I wanted to paint the entire room one color to achieve the look I like, to brighten up the room since it doesn’t get much natural light, and to make my starburst mirror above my bed “pop” more against the wall. Here’s the design board:
I used Valspar paint from Lowe’s in a satin finish, a standard roller, brush and of course my shur-line edger that I can’t live without.
I painted 2 coats on all the trim molding on the wall first.
And then rolled on the rest.
And here are my new bedroom walls!
These mirrors on each side of the TV wall are from Kirkland’s. I wasn’t particularly looking for them, but I stopped in Kirkland’s one day and seriously heard them calling my name. I think they were MADE for this wall!
My mirror contrasts perfectly now! I think I love it even more than I did before. (I get asked about the source of this mirror quite a bit, and unfortunately it’s no longer carried by Home Depot. I think they’re crazy for discontinuing it since it did so well.)

What do you think of the monochromatic molded walls? Do you like the walls more before or after? More to come next week on my nightstand makeover!
